The bubbly off-Broadway spectacle known as Gazillion Bubble Show has had its bubble burst. A spokesperson for the show confirmed that 3.4 tons of its special bubble solution and 6,000 orb-blowing toys went missing after a June 10 break-in at the North Bergen, NJ, warehouse where they were being stored. Thus far, no performances of the show, which opened at New World Stages in February 15, 2007, have been affected.
The sudsy specialty solution, which allows creator and renowned bubble artist Fan Yan and his wife, Ana, to create eye-popping bubbles of substantial shape and size—including square and smoke-filled bubbles and record-breaking spheres which can encircle up to four children—takes two months to make. The show currently has six weeks worth of solution in stock.
